Downy Mildew

Downy mildew is caused by a wide array of fungi also known as watermoulds. They need free water to infect plants and only occur during periods of high humidity, rainfall or heavy dew.

Yellow areas develop on upper leaf surfaces which usually corresponds to fuzzy greyish-white fungal growth underneath the leaf. Symptoms can be confused with some powdery mildew infections. Large areas of the leaves may be affected and it can lead to premature dying and leaf drop.
